Saturday, I told my girlfriend, let’s just rent a movie and watch it on this crazy TV I bought. We went to a local video rental store. We walked the whole store looking at the new rentals. I wanted to see Wall-E. She had never seen it but was not in the mood. She wanted a comedy. We saw some Dane Cook movie and thought maybe. Then she found Burn After Reading. I made the mistake of NOT reading the back of the movie case. I asked her, since she just read the back, what is it about?
To my surprise, she tells me it’s a comedy of sorts. I see it has George Clooney and Brad Pit from the front cover. (Again I rely on her reading the back). I say why not…I’m sure it’s funny and has to be better than Dane Cook.
We end up renting that one and buying Wall-E (only $10 to own).
OK…well after 2 hours …we both found ourselves saying. What the F just happened. We were so disappointed. And I made sure I let her know she did not pick out a comedy. This is not a bad movie, but more random. If you’ve seen it you know what I’m talking about. Not only do some of the characters act like they don’t know what the F is going on, but we, the viewers, felt the same way as the credits still rolled.
Girlfriend admitted defeat.
Lesson learned….I pick out our next movie!!!
Don’t do 10, (ten) (nine plus one) things at a time.
Petting Mario, throwing a ball for Allie, watching J-Leno, and writing a blog = bad blog. Thanks to the people like Nick for telling me I suck at writing.
Next time, I’m throwing the cat off my lap. I think that’s the root cause. I couldn’t type as well with it on me….. (sounds like a good excuse?)
I have no clue what season American Idol is up, but I have to say I was entertained tonight. They are keeping it fresh every year. How do they do it? Editing. I think the show would suck if all we saw was good auctions and bad auctions. Editors deserve the awards. For all the time spent spicing, cuttings, and adding sound effects, they must spend forever. But, the important thing is they are doing a great job they keeps it fresh. We’ll see how my hatred goes for this as the season goes on. Normally I’m against the fact that these people are “studio” made, but dang it, we’re stuck listening to one of these people on the radio come Fall 2009.
Go blue baby!!!!
Even if they (University of Michigan) lose every game from this point forward, they did better than last year at this point. It would be nice to see the program get built back up to where it once was during the FAB 5 era. Wishful thinking? I don’t know. I’ll always have my roots from the East Side, so I will forever bleed Maze and Blue.
Also, in general, I’ve been happy with Big Ten play this year. MSU doing well outside the conference, which should give us hope again that a Big Ten team might be able to make it far in the tournament this year. I know it’s too early in the season to know how it’s going to end, but at least the trends are looking good.

Is anyone else impressed that Google gears uses .NET. I was just installing the latest WordPress and wanted to try out the Turbo feature. When installing the Google Gears I noticed it was a click once app… Pretty cool!!!
These Fridays never come fast enough.
Today on my way into work I turned on my GPS. I forgot to check the mileage from all my holiday driving. I found out I only drove about 767miles. Never left the state…heck never went farther north than the grand rapids…but I went back and forth a few times.
Holidays went by fast. Now we just settle in for a long Michigan Winter. 20s this weekend and teens all next week…burr…oh ya and chance of snow EVERY day until summer. Grand Rapids has almost met their normal snow fall for the WHOLE season.
