Day in day out, I hear about getting the flu here and there. People always sick. Well the reason starts at the bathroom. I’m so tired of walking into the bathroom, only to notice someone walk out after playing target practice with the urinal cake and go straight for the door. That’s right. No soap no water…just urine filled hands on the door handle. To make matters worse I’ve witnessed straight from the fecal throne to the door. And maybe to top it all. I’ve seen upper management doing this.
What the hell. I don’t trust anyone. Why should I shake your hand. I’m sorry If I grab a bottle of hand sanitizer out of my pocket after I shake your hand. I just don’t know where that hand has been or if it’s been washed. Maybe it shook the hand of someone who didn’t wash before you shook mine.
Maybe we need a new policy where I work. If you get caught not washing your hands you get fired. Its gross. It really is. People should know better. It’s bad enough fighting air borne crap, now we need to fight hand and piss crap (literally).
Wake up people. It’s called soap. TRY IT.

So I started thinking this past week, that its time to start putting some thoughts and $$ into backing up data. But where do you start?
Windows Vista home server is just around the corner and would be awesome to perform backups with. But then you have to have at least 2 computer running all the time. You could have a NAS and have it raided. That takes less power and is easy to set up. All these solutions can all be Raid. But sure which raid to choose from?
The latest thought was a couple 750GB drives raided. (mirrored) too bad you could validate their data all the time too?
Another new thought would be to pay for online storage. The problem is which one to use? Online storage can be pretty pricey and it can take a long time to perform a backup. Many have new features that can compare every file and only update bits instead of the whole files if need be.
So what’s everyone opinion? Where do they start and what are some of their solutions?
My main purposes will be to back up photos that I have laying around EVERYWHERE. I want one central location and I want it protected.
A school in Grand Rapids, Michigan had a break in with damages of around $50,000 USD. Three teens. ages 15,16, and 16. If the video in the link works, you should be able to see the original report. How disappointing is it to see utter destruction to a school in a matter of less than an hour. The destruction was so bad they had to cancel school. This was a second attempt too. They were wearing college clothes to throw off suspicions and wrote in spray paint another high school’s name to also throw off suspicions. They ended up turning themselves in. They had the excuse that they wanted a day off. If that’s what the lawyer made them say then so be it, but come on.
WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING?!?!
This wasn’t just a few windows, this was a ransacking. Not only was there damage, but just messes everywhere. I think these teens are pretty much troubled and it’s disappointing to hear about such horrible story. It’s hard to believe a few can think about themselves and think the World revolves around them. This story just takes away from the credibility and maturity that teens so want others to believe they have.
