In an article at WindowsNow by Robert McLaws, he points out some interesting facts that most people don’t know. Everyone is being a “fanboy” (sorry that’s one of those do not use terms anymore) and stating that Vista is junk just because they’ve announced a Service Pack due out this year.
Here’s what people don’t understand. Vista’s codebase will be built sharing the same binary’s as Vista Server. That means a rock solid OS at server quality. If its anything Server 2003, this will be an awesome product. Server comes out later this year. It only makes sense since there the same to upgrade Vista OS to the same Vista Server code.
The end result is that Windows Vista SP1 will have the same stability, security, and reliability as a server OS. This cannot be understated: Microsoft has never had server reliability on the desktop before. Windows Server 2003 has been a rock-solid OS from day one, and the number of vulnerabilities have been far fewer than previous releases. Since Windows Vista started from that codebase, you already have a really stable OS. But to have the same bits running on both desktops and servers can only mean good things for consumers moving forward.

The radio show, “Bob and Tom” beat me to this comment. But can someone tell me when did the president become a superstar? This post has nothing to do with “bashing” the current president, but this is just a general president question. Doesn’t it feel like the president should loose a lot of dignity when he takes 10 minutes to leave The House because he’s force to sign programs, baseball hats, and whatnots. I found it funny and strange that he would have done that. Now I could understand if this was just the simple American, but these are house Reps. standing around with their sharpie and there State of the Union Program.
So, this story seams to be just a little confusing. A hunter kills a duck. It’s it becomes a Zombie(some how), and then they decide to take the duck to the vet… This humorous story was on digg. My thought was, wasn’t it suppose to be for dinner but now its going to be saved? What was the point of hunting it then?
The orginal story can be found at the BBC’s website.

The duck’s slow metabolism is thought to have helped it survive

A duck in the US state of Florida has survived gunshot wounds and a two-day stint in a refrigerator. A hunter shot the duck, wounding it in the wing and leg. Believing the bird was dead, he left it in his fridge at his home in Tallahassee.
The hunter’s wife got a fright when she opened the fridge and the duck lifted its head, a local veterinarian said.
Staff at the Goose Creek Animal Sanctuary who are treating the bird said it has a 75% chance of survival.
The plucky duck was taken first to a local animal hospital, and then to an animal sanctuary for more specialised treatment.
A veterinarian at the sanctuary said he thinks the duck will live, but will probably never be well enough to be released into the wild.
The veterinarian, David Hale, said the duck’s low metabolism rate helped it survive its time in the refrigerator, the Tallahassee Democrat newspaper reported.
“This is an extremely tough duck with a lot of spirit to live,” he said. “This shows how tough and adaptable wildlife are.”

Digg posted today about a contest to see how many Bauer will kill this season. What a rip off. “bauercount.com” should talk to watching24.com and at least get a link for the effort. Just my opinion.

If anyone watched Bill Gates talk Sunday Night, he mentioned a vista home server.
Here are more details on it at the above link.
I think its an awesome Idea and will look forward to seeing it.
Also… Has anyone used the new sleep function in the final release of Vista on a laptop to see if its faster than hibernating?
So it turns out, my feeds were not being syndicated correctly. I guess I missed the wordpress setting that mentioned display as summary or full text. All is well now. Refresh your RSS readers to see the full lengths of past post and new ones to come.
