Color Space Problems
Today after reading through some forums on digital photography, I found out why my photos have been looking washed out in my gallery. With the 20D I use Adobe RGB 98. The problem with this only comes to play when viewing the photos outside of Photoshop. 99% of computer monitors use the sRGB color profile. Therefore after saving the photos in the aRGB format and viewing them on the web, they looked washed out. The fix to my problem is to convert the color profile from aRGB to sRGB right before saving. I recommend to anyone using digital cameras that can choose a color profile make sure you sRGB for displaying on the web. Most all printers use sRGB for prints anyways. Make sure when printing the photos that you convert first. However there are a few online printing services that will use aRGB.
My only reasons to use aRGB are for the extra information that the profile holds.
Bellow you can see the differences.
The first image is the aRGB profile. The second the sRGB.
