So now that I have IE7 beta and VISTA better known as Longhorn, I really want to try them out, but between moving around and having to take a 3 day cross country trip, its cutting into my play time.
The plan is next week to try out these 2 programs and see how they perform. I don??t expect much from VISTA given its release date is about 6 months away or more.
My short rant for today.
I’m a little behind by a few weeks on this story. IE7 is now in beta form. If you Google around, you can download a copy. Looks like a fire fox copy to me. Way to go M$. I see all good ideas come from others. As a developer I have to start working with the beta now for the software I implement at work. I’m sure my company will go to final version as soon as it’s available and so that means I have to see what’s going to and what’s not going to work. I’ll be installing this on a virtual machine at home this weekend and playing with it. Looks like there is CSS support of all kinds? I didn’t read a ton up on what it can do. If anyone knows some more ins and outs feel free to share it here.
For the past year or so I have been using “gallery” to do all my photo postings. They have been working on version 2 for some time now. The major advantage with version 2 is that it now uses MySQL to house all the guts of links. This is some great software. If you use gallery one, I would recommend waiting until the full release is out. Next weekend, I will be migrating all the old flat files from gallery one over to the MySQL of gallery2.
There is a new learning curve to figuring out how to use the new version, but overall it??s a much better tool and I think this is what the group originally wanted to release. It??s fast, secure, and reliable. Works on all platforms, so don??t worry you don??t need to have a UNIX based server to use it.

I normaly don’t post on news stories, but this one got my attention, after my xbox starting working crazy the other day.

I would just like to give a shoutout to my good friend over at http://oneof.us/
He finds humor in other peoples misadventures. You have to go to his site and read all its great articles. Lots of fun and interesting things there.
