So for my ANT206 class I had to go to the zoo this past saterday. The John Ball Park Zoo is not too much to talk about since i’m used to the size of the Toledo zoo. Never the less, it was still something to do.

Well I made the big jump from wordpress 1.2 to 1.5. LOTS of good changes. I will have to explore all of it this weekend. They now have themes. This is an awsome idea. If your upgrading from the older one, (like I was) you will run into a few problems. I had to rename files and re-write code everywhere. But for now its up. Maybe this will motivate me to upgrade all my pages and get going on the photo section and moblog.

Anyways nice new featers. Admin area is layed out a little better. Give the new one a chance if you haven’t allready.

So, thought that forcing people to type in a word found within a picture would stop all spammers and it did up untill today. Once again another poker spam got through. My friend JEFF pointed out the site that list all the differant type of picture words out there, and then the site explains how easily crackable they are. So if there’s a will, the spammers will find it.

I am thinking about updating to a stronger picture word. If I get more spam within the next few days, I will have to update.

EDIT fixed. After an upgrade of wordpress, one of the important spam catching files was lost. Eveything should be back up running again.

Some people request the pictures from the Christmas party last year. So I just uploaded the pictures to my gallery. Look under GVSU for the picutures.

So for the past year, I’ve been having problems with spam on wp. Bots have been hitting my site with every poker thing they can think of.

I’ve been hacked. Well someone (one of my friends) read about a security problem with AWSTATS 6.2. If you are using this version UPDATE right away. The security hole will allow someone to execute any type of code. Luckily, I only recieved new webpages that had BAD images on them. But they could move / delete / and create new files and folders.
